Passionate About Equipping Others

As an adult multiple leukemia and transplant survivor who loves Jesus, it is my passion to encourage and equip fellow believers to have a more fulfilling relationship with Jesus.

Growing up in Southern California,  I accepted Jesus as my Lord and Savior at a Junior High Summer Bible Camp.  After graduating from college, I spent about three and a half years in retail management and full cycle accounting.  While working on a Master's Degree in Accounting, I felt the call to vocational ministry.

In the summer of 2008, I moved from Tacoma Washington to Lynchburg Virginia and began full-time studies at Liberty Seminary.  In Fall 2011, leukemia entered my life and eventually led up to a bone marrow transplant on July 10, 2013.  Even after the transplant, the leukemia was not completely eradicated.  What a faith adventure this has been!  But through these battles, with the Lord's empowering, I have earned three master's degrees and am scheduled to begin doctoral studies at Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in Fall 2017.

Before leukemia entered my life, I was part of the adult pastoral ministries team that launched off campus small groups at Thomas Road Baptist Church in Lynchburg, VA (founded by the late Jerry Falwell) in Fall 2010.  It was being a part of this transition that opened my eyes to the truth that discipleship is one of the fundamental ministries of most churches that has room for improvement.  The Lord has blessed me with the ability and health since the beginning of 2014 to host and lead a couple home fellowships (one college and career focused and the other for mixed adults), co-lead an adult Sunday school, and guest preach.

Understandings and Beliefs:

A disciple is a person who has trusted Christ for salvation and has surrendered completely to Him as Lord and Savior.  He or she is committed to practicing the spiritual disciplines in community and developing to their full potential for Christ and His mission.

Discipleship is the process of guiding individual disciple to grow in spiritual maturity and to discover and use their gifts, talents, and abilities in fulfillment of Christ's mission.
